Wachiya! Awarded the United Nations “We the Peoples” Award, the community of Oujé- Bougoumou is host to the Aanischaaukamikw Cree Cultural Institute. This unique centre is more than a museum, it is a centre where Cree Culture is experienced and taught. Visitors can admire 5,000 -year- old artefacts that illustrate the Cree Peoples’ rich history and their connection to the land. The institute is also home to a library and archives dedicated to the preservation of our history.
