Experienced Indigenous guides lead you on a journey that begins almost 6,000 years ago with the arrival of the Maritime Archaic people in Port Au Choix, north of Gros Morne. We will discover their traditions, along with Dorset and Groswater people, at the Port au Choix National Historic Site.Your home base will be in Norris Point, a community in the heart of Bonne Bay, a glacier-carved fjord. From there, be immersed each day with the land and sea and connect through the stories and Indigenous traditions of the Mi'kmaq people. This week-long walking and cultural tour includes experiences with four different Mi'kmaq hosts; learn the teachings of the medicine wheel and forage for your dinner at Upper Humber Settlement, take a coastal walk with Under The Stump and engage in family tales and traditions, glide in a Big Canoe and try your hand at fire making with Gros Morne Adventures and be inspired by the artistry and healing of Spirit Horse Therapeutic Arts .
