Lennox Island is proud to be considered a leader when it comes to Indigenous Tourism in Prince Edward Island. Our Mi’kmaq community is strong and vibrant; generations of Indigenous Peoples have respected and cherished these lands and waters on the shores of Malpeque Bay for 10,000 years. We welcome visitors to our beautiful island to share the unique experiences we have to offer. Our warm and welcoming community is surrounded by tranquil waters, natural beauty and pristine vistas. There is much to see and do on Lennox Island: we offer guided tours, nature trails and storytelling. Delight in the sights and sounds of our traditional Pow Wow or join in the excitement of our annual St. Anne’s Sunday Celebration. Step back in history as you enter the Cultural Centre and visit with some of our gifted artisans who will amaze you with their original woodworks, paintings, jewellery, basket weaving, and more. Come take a walk in the footsteps of those who have gone before us on the Path of Our Forefathers. Stop in and learn more about the PEI Mi’kmaq in our Lennox Island Mi’kmaq Culture and Tourism Centre. Enjoy traditional Mi’kmaq food. Make your own Mi’kmaq drum. Visit with our Elders and listen as they share the stories and legends of our proud Culture. Our residents are fond of saying that: “…If the Creator made any place more beautiful than this, he surely kept it for himself”.
