Wapakwanis Plant Walk, Talk & Takeaway

Wapakwanis Plant Walk, Talk & Takeaway

From $45Book now

Alberta

Culture & Heritage

My Tourism experiences are designed to experience Authentic Indigenous Experiences. The Wapakwanis Plant Walk is a look at the flora in our surroundings through an Indigenous lens. The takeaway is so important too, because it allows individuals to actually work with the plant material, and they can then see how easy it is to make a tea, tincture, salve, scrub etc, this helps promote health and food sovereignty.

I encourage my clients to be outside, to be in nature, to forage, harvest, plant and observe their natural surroundings. Appreciate the land, the water, the flora and the animals. In this way they can appreciate the nature of the Rocky Mountains, and understand the Indigenous values and beliefs that Indigenous People have. I love that Tourism allows me to tell my stories through my own voice. The stories that have been told in the Parks systems haven’t been represented by the Indigenous voices enough, and I’m proud to be part of the solution.
