Homalco Wildlife & Cultural Tours offers guests the opportunity to visit, explore and learn on the traditional territory of the Homalco First Nation in Bute Inlet. Join them for an immersive experience discovering the spectacular wilderness of their traditional territory and enjoy the chance to view some of North America’s most sought-after wildlife, including grizzly bears, salmon, eagles and whales through an Indigenous perspective. Take a comfortable heated boat tour on the Great Bears of Bute experience and meet the χawgəs, the Grizzly Bear, on an exciting full day tour of respectful wildlife viewing in this truly spectacular part of Canada. On a People, Water, Land tour look out for humpback whales, orcas, sea lions, porpoises, dolphins, bald eagles and other seabirds. Back on land, take an interpretive walk with your Indigenous guide to learn about bears and traditional uses of the land, before a zodiac boat tour to search for feeding bears and ancient petroglyphs. Owned and operated by the Homalco First Nation, all tours are led by a Homalco guide to provide a full First Nations interpretation.
