Kwe! Travel the path of the Huron-Wendat people and discover their fascinating history pre-European contact at the Onhoüa Chetek8e Huron Traditional Site just 20-minutes from Quebec City.

Take an immersive trip back into the heart of Huron-Wendat ancestry and discover the rich history, traditions and living Culture of its People. Explore our traditional way of life through guided tours, tales and legends. Paddle a canoe with a guide and hear stories of the river and traditional methods of transport. Take part in a craft workshop and create your own medicine wheel from deer leather, goose and pheasant feathers, to chase away illness and protect each and every home around the world. Watch a colourful dance show and join in the closing Friendship Dance.

Explore the Yänonchia (Huron longhouse) and listen to a presentation on the Huron-Wendat traditional way of life and sophisticated social organization before the arrival of Europeans. Hear the legends of the Creation of the World, the Monstrous Bear, the Discovery of Fire and the Gift from the Great Spirit and be part of a tradition reaching back countless generations who have heard these stories. Discover traditional Wendat food-preservation techniques in the Etiesatraoa (smoke hut) and Eti8atsaoaoa (curing shed) then enjoy lunch at our onsite Nek8arre Restaurant which features wild game and fish dishes and can accommodate 180 guests. Make time to visit Le Huron shop, which offers an incredible array of Indigenous arts and crafts from across North America.
